 Young Natural Resources Professionals Coffee Break Series Conversations with Industry and Foundation Leaders

2020 has been a difficult year for all of us, and each of us has experienced our own unique set of challenges. These may include adapting to working remotely, trying to work while taking care of children, concerns about job stability given the economy and the volatility in energy prices, or adjusting to new expectations from your superiors or clients. 

Throughout 2021, the Foundation’s Young Professionals Committee will host an online networking opportunity for up to ten young professionals and students at each session to engage in conversation with an industry or Foundation leader about their career, how they overcame challenges, managed risk, defied conventional standards, and became the unique leader they are today. Take a break for an hour, grab a cup of coffee, and join us for an intimate conversation with a leader. There is no charge to participate in this program.

Ana Luci Grizzi is a national Practice Group Leader for the Environmental Practice. Ms. Grizzi focuses her practice on:

  • Legal Advice: negotiations with Public Attorneys’ Office, environmental agencies, councils and associations; negotiation of environmental inquiries; preparation of agreements, drafting of environmental clauses and negotiation; Post-Consumption Liability Systems (""Take Back""); legal management of contaminated sites; environmental licensing processes and management of licenses (conditions/renewal processes); legal management of waste, wastewater, air emissions, noise emissions, capture of water, controlled products; support in registration of activities, premises and products; updates on new rules and case law.
  • Legal Due Diligence: legal compliance and risk analysis; evaluation of production processes; evaluation of environmental management systems; mergers & acquisitions and joint ventures; transactions involving land use; national and international financing; evaluation of socio-environmental reports.
  • Litigation: municipal, state and federal administrative processes with empowered agencies and environmental litigation (class actions) assisted by the Firm’s Litigation practice group.

Ms. Grizzi is fluent in all aspects of the complex Brazilian environmental system and brings extensive experience with most relevant environmental issues currently under discussion, advising companies on strategies to efficiently deal with environmental rules and liabilities. She has significant experience and success in dealing with Brazilian environmental authorities. She is highly experienced in environmental post-consumption liability rules, having assisted clients in the electronics sector to draft and structure entire take back systems.
