HEATHER HUGHES

 
Heather is a Vice President in Stroz Friedberg’s Houston office. She provides proactive and reactive cybersecurity risk mitigation services, information security incident response, digital forensic investigations, and electronic discovery investigations for law firms and corporations. Heather also manages privacy compliance services including; PII, HIPAA risk assessments and GAP analysis and breach response. Heather has over 25 years’ experience in risk management, HIPAA privacy and security and state data breach notification laws and she is a frequent speaker and author on topics related to HIPAA, HITECH, data breach notification laws and third party privacy requirements. She has been published in US LAW Magazine and several publications by the Texas State Bar.

KRYSTAL SCOTT

Krystal is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group and is co-leader of the energy and natural resources litigation team at Jones Walker. Krystal represents energy-industry clients in a broad range of disputes arising from their operations, regularly advising her clients on contractual rights and property disputes. She also assists clients through incident response, including cybersecurity breach response and Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigations. An experienced oral advocate, Krystal has appeared in state and federal courts across several states, before various regulatory bodies, and in arbitrations in multiple jurisdictions. Krystal is also a member of the firm’s privacy and data security team.

 

EWAEN WOGHIREN

Ewaen is an associate in the energy and natural resources litigation team at Jones Walker. Ewaen represents clients in the midstream and upstream energy industry in both state and federal courts. He has experience litigating matters that arise from a broad range of disputes involving oil and gas liens, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, leases, and compliance with Environmental Protection Agency regulations. Over the course of his career, Ewaen has prosecuted and defended a diverse docket that includes construction defect, oil and gas lease disputes, business divorces, business torts, and products liability. Ewaen is a member of the firm’s privacy and data security team.

 

JESSICA BLACK LIVINGSTON (moderator)

 

Jessica is Counsel in the Denver office of Hogan Lovells. Serving on the mining leadership team for the global Energy and Natural Resources group, Jessica counsels mining, energy, and oil and gas clients on environmental regulations, citizen-suit disputes, cybersecurity risks and threat responses, business integrity, corporate social responsibility, sustainability concerns, and general litigation matters. Her diverse experience includes representing mining clients in federal and state courts on matters in the Rocky Mountain region and throughout the United States. In her commercial practice, Jessica advises on the full range of business-to-business disputes. She also works with technology clients, advising on intellectual property matters, including trade-secret, privacy, and data-security disputes.
