Short Course on

Federal Offshore Oil & Gas Leasing and Development

Please join us in New Orleans in April for this one-of-a-kind comprehensive course on the federal offshore leasing program.  Updated since it was last offered in 2013, this program is a unique opportunity for lawyers, landmen, and regulators to hone their knowledge of the complex legal framework governing this vital part of the nation’s energy industry.

This course focuses on the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, the Department of the Interior’s regulation of the offshore oil and gas industry, and the primary agreements used in offshore oil and gas operations. The roles of other federal statutes and agencies will also be addressed. This course will be taught by practicing attorneys, Interior representatives, and others who are involved with offshore oil and gas operations on a daily basis. Topics include the jurisdictional battle over offshore oil and gas rights, Interior’s offshore leasing program, lease maintenance, assignments of offshore leases, the substantive law of coastal states as “surrogate” federal law, decommissioning liability, bonding, inspections and enforcement, administrative appeals, and more.

Experienced attendees will benefit from deeper insights into cutting-edge topics, while resource professionals who are relatively new to the practice will benefit from the experience of our distinguished speakers. We hope you can join us in New Orleans to continue the tradition of valuable educational and networking opportunities provided by our Offshore short courses.
