65th Annual Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Institute - ROOMS ONLY

Monterey is an extremely popular destination among our attendees and one of our most family-friendly locations. Situated on the Pacific coast and only 113 miles south of San Francisco, the city is considered a coastal paradise.

How to get to Monterey? Fly directly into Monterey Regional Airport (MRY), located just 10 minutes from the downtown area, via international and domestic connecting routes on Alaska, Allegiant, American, and United. Direct flights are available from Denver, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and Las Vegas. Nearby larger airports include San Jose (one hour away) and San Francisco (two hours away).

Why should I go to Monterey and bring my family? Besides a great program (to be announced), you can look for sea otters, harbor seals, and sea lions as you walk through Old Fisherman’s Wharf and enjoy a seafood dinner fresh from the bay. Hop on a whale watching tour, rent a paddleboat, visit a farmer’s market, or hit the beach. Explore the shops and attractions of Cannery Row, immortalized in John Steinbeck’s novel. Sip handcrafted wines in more than 60 area tasting rooms. Take a surfing lesson or pack a picnic and enjoy one of the many beaches. Twenty-one golf courses, including the monumental Pebble Beach Golf Links. Visit the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, with its sea otters, jellies, sharks, and interactive exhibits for kids. Experience one of the best road trips in the United States along the breathtaking Big Sur coastline on Highway One, or take the famous 17-mile drive through Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove. Carmel-by-the-Sea is only four miles away.

Discounted hotel rooms are blocked at four properties. Booking information and a map follow. We encourage you to make your hotel reservations promptly – Monterey completely fills up in July. Please contact us at info@rmmlf.org if you have any questions or run into any problems reserving a room. We hope to see you next summer!
