Scholarships and Grants for Law Schools

Grants Program

In 1976, the Foundation initiated its Grants Program. Grants are awarded to persons or organizations for meritorious projects in natural resources law such as the preparation of teaching materials; specialized faculty or student research; law school seminars, lectures, short courses, and symposia; and publication of substantive articles. Since 1976, more than $339,000 in grants have been authorized. Download our Grants Program flyer (PDF).

Scholarship Program

In 1980, the Foundation established the Joe Rudd Scholarship Fund in memory of Joe Rudd, a prominent Alaska natural resources attorney. Scholarship selections are based on the interest of candidates in natural resources law and their potential to make significant contributions to the field. One hundred six (106) scholarships have been awarded since 1980.

In 1994, this program was expanded with the establishment of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation Scholarships. Eighty-seven (87) RMMLF scholarships have been awarded to date.

A total of $667,000 has been awarded in scholarships to date.

For additional information about these programs, contact Carla Sherwood at the Foundation (303) 321-8100 ext. 107, or E-Mail csherwood@rmmlf.org. Download our Scholarship Program flyer (PDF).
